Canticle of Zechariah paraphrased

In light of what is happening to our Country, I propose this paraphrased Canticle of Zechariah:

The Messiah and his forerunner

The Canticle of Zechariah paraphrased for our Country, as forerunner of Freedom

Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel;

he has come to America and our forefathers have set us free.

He has raised up for us mighty saviors of freedom,

born of the States and our legislative body.

Through our forefathers statutes he promised of old

 that he would save us from our enemies–

from the hands of all who hate us and want to devour our freedom.

He promised to show freedom to us by the dictates our Constitution

and to remember our covenant with God, the Declaration of Independence.

This was the oath he swore to our fathers of our Constitution

to set us free from the hands of those who would change our way of Life,

free to worship Him without fear of reprisal from within or outside our government,

and holy and righteous in his sight
all the days of our life.

You, America, shall be called the prophet of freedom
of the Most High;

for you will go before the Lord to prepare his way,

to give His citizens knowledge of salvation through the written preambles of liberty

by the forgiveness of those who transgress against us.

In the tender compassion of our God
the dawn from on high shall protect us from the irreligious and immoral acts,

to shine on those who dwell in the darkness of Anti-Christian sentiment
and the shadow of death

and to guide our feet into the way of peace and freedom of religion.

Ant. Lord, save us from the hands of all who hate us.

THE PAST IS PROLOGUE
In front of the National Archives in Washington D.C. There are two single blocks of limestone each weighing 125 tons. Engraved on one are the words: “Study the Past” and on the other explains why: “What is Past is Prologue.”

CANTICLE OF ZECHARIAH Luke 1:68 – 79

The Messiah and his forerunner

Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel;
he has come to his people and set them free.
He has raised up for us a mighty savior,
born of the house of his servant David.

Through his holy prophets he promised of old

that he would save us from our enemies,

 from the hands of all who hate us.

He promised to show mercy to our fathers
and to remember his holy covenant.

This was the oath he swore to our father Abraham:
to set us free from the hands of our enemies,
free to worship him without fear,
holy and righteous in his sight
all the days of our life.

You, my child, shall be called the prophet
of the Most High;
for you will go before the Lord to prepare his way,
to give his people knowledge of salvation
by the forgiveness of their sins.

In the tender compassion of our God
the dawn f Amenrom on high shall break upon us,
to shine on those who dwell in darkness
and the shadow of death,
and to guide our feet into the way of peace.

Glory to the Father, and to the pSon,
and to the Holy Spirit,
As it was in the beginning, is now,
And will be for ever. Amen.
