From Bret and Katia:
Dear fraternity members, Pace e Bene!
Katia and I wanted to let you all know that we are in Assisi now. We stayed in Katia’s hometown for about 3 weeks, then were in Salerno for a few days where Katia had some blood work done. She’ll have the results in a week. Pleae pray for her because she suffers from bad headaches and lethargy. We took advantage of the time and went to the Amalfi coast for a day. Very nice.
We arrived in Assisi yesterday and this morning at 8:30 am there was a 4.5 earthquake! It was the first one I ever felt. It was like a train or mack truck drove by the apartment, but we’re in a small apartment in the historic center near San Rufino and the streets are medieval and narrow.
The locals are chattering about it. They haven’t felt an earthquake since the huge one in 1997 that damaged the town and killed 2 friars in the
Basilica of St. Francis. I had just finished my morning prayer and I thought about how powerful God is – he can move mountains!
We will be here for about 6 weeks. Next Saturday my first of 4 groups arrives. We have 85 people this year and are excited to guide them through the land of St. Francis. Please remember us in prayer as it is not easy with 2 small children. Also remember the pilgrims who are coming this Fall that God will move mountains in all of our hearts!
We will remember each of you by name at the tomb of St. Francis this week.
Peace and good things, Bret & Katia, SFO
